Der Baum ist eine Zahl in einer Statistik. Für manche Zwecke reicht das völlig. Planting projects put seedlings in the ground, often in large numbers and frequently in reforestation areas abroad. You donate an amount, a young tree is planted somewhere, and that is usually the end of it: where exactly it stands, how it fares, and whether it survives its first dry summers, you generally never learn. A tree sponsorship starts at the other end: not with a number, but with a tree that really exists. With us it is selected, photographed, and entered with its GPS coordinates into our forest register. You know where it stands. You can visit it, in summer or in snow. Every year you get photos and news of it, and over time something grows that a planting certificate cannot deliver: a relationship with a place.

A mature mountain forest already protects villages and roads from rockfall and avalanches, stores water, binds CO₂, and shelters countless species. A sponsorship funds the care that keeps this forest healthy: giving young trees room, clearing up after storms, maintaining paths. You are not supporting the promise of a forest in thirty years, but a forest doing its work now.

Honestly: no single tree offsets a lifestyle, whether planted or cared for. Anyone selling you otherwise is exaggerating. The good reason for a sponsorship is a different one: well-tended, healthy forests are one of the most effective answers we have, and a sponsorship connects you with exactly such a forest, visibly and verifiably, year after year.

Unser Wald liegt im Saanenland bei Gstaad und gehört unserer Familie seit Generationen. Wir kennen ihn, weil wir mit ihm aufgewachsen sind. Eine STAMM Patenschaft heisst: dein Baum in diesem Wald, ein Zertifikat mit Foto und GPS-Koordinaten, jedes Jahr ein Bericht aus dem Wald und ein Glas Honig aus der Region. Wenn du jemandem eine Freude machen willst, geht das auch als Geschenk, mit dem Namen der beschenkten Person auf dem Zertifikat.
